Of course, she still had it.

The moment Daisy decided to cry, her eyes filled with tears. After all, she really was overwhelmed. It wasn’t hard.

The reason codename ‘Easy’ became Clean’s ace wasn’t just her skills as an assassin. Her acting was top notch, too.

“I-I’m sorry… I can’t do this. I… this is my first time, and I’m so scared…”

The moment their eyes met, Daisy started sobbing even harder, her voice trembling with pitiful hiccups.

“H-Hic, snf, hic…”

Maxim’s playful expression vanished, replaced by a sudden seriousness. With a sigh, he scrubbed his face with one hand and apologized.

“…Haah. I’m sorry, Issy. I guess I was only thinking about myself.”

…Well, at least he realized it now. That was quicker than she’d expected. Daisy kept sniffling, swallowing her real thoughts.

“Don’t worry. If you’re scared, I won’t force you. I promise.”

“Hic, s-sorry…”

“No, no, you didn’t do anything wrong, Issy. It’s my fault for not being more considerate. Please don’t cry.”

Surprisingly, Maxim backed off right away.

If she had known crying would work this well, she’d have done it from the start. Daisy made a mental note to cry more often if she had to.

“Honestly, I’ve been holding back since that day… Our wedding day.”

As if she could forget… The way that thing pressed against her stomach left a lasting impression.

“I rushed back from the war just because I wanted to hold you, Issy. I moved as quickly as I could and didn’t waste a second. I even hurried a bit too much.”

“Hic… sob…”

“I risked my life, launched raids right into enemy territory. I even skipped proper meals, gnawing on field rations while smashing in enemy skulls. Please believe me.”

Who on earth massacres enemy soldiers just because they want s*x?  He said it so earnestly, but the actual content was utterly insane.

Maxim apologized again, pleading for her to believe him.

His face looked genuinely earnest, but the enormous bulge in his robe looked ready to burst out at any moment.

Daisy felt the color drain from her face.

It was absurd, but Maxim von Waldeck was, after all, a man in his prime. War maniac and battle-hardened, and apparently with a matching s*x drive.

“I can’t believe I made you cry, Issy…”

Maxim looked guilty.

Was he really feeling guilty, while still rock hard? Well… apparently so.

He reached out and gently cupped Daisy’s cheek. He rubbed her tears with his thumb with a pitiful gaze.

“But what am I supposed to do when you’re so beautiful, even when you cry?”

…Good grief. There was no saving him.

Kiss, kiss. Soft lips brushed her cheeks and then pressed against hers.

‘If this keeps going, it’s going to turn into another deep kiss… and then…’

Daisy’s mind spun with panic. She shoved at Maxim’s collarbone.

“Kissing is not okay, either?”

“No. Kissing, um… I’m not ready. Not yet…”

“But we already kissed at the wedding. Did you not like it?”

“That was just sudden. You were so aggressive, I was honestly scared. That was… actually my very first kiss.”

Daisy lashes trembled as she looked down.

Honestly, it wasn’t that she kissed him. It was that she got kissed.

Who sticks their tongue in during a wedding vow kiss in front of the entire guest list? Even thinking about it made her face burn.

Seeing Daisy start to tear up again, Maxim looked flustered.

“Well, that was my first kiss in this life, too…”

…Seriously?

For a first kiss, he was way too skilled. And those quick fingers. The way he’d unhooked her bra still sent chills down her spine.

His first kiss in this life? So he has many lives?

“Anyway, I’m sorry. I thought it’d be fine to kiss you again since we already did it once.”

Maxim’s shoulders slumped like a puppy in the rain as he apologized yet again.

His apologetic eyes seemed genuine. The sharp gaze had gone soft and uncertain. Seeing that, Daisy’s own guard lowered just a bit.
