Battle Divorce! - Chapter 2
Pinned in his embrace and caught in a deep kiss, Daisy let out a muffled whimper. Her heart pounded furiously between their pressed chests.
His hungry kiss made her head spin, and all she could hear was the slick, wet sounds echoing in her ears.
Is this normal? Do people really kiss like this in front of a whole crowd of guests? Maybe… but surely not this intensely… right? There’s a limit, isn’t there?
Even the priest seemed flustered, clearing his throat awkwardly at the unexpected display.
‘Is this guy insane? Some kind of pervert?’
No matter how she tried to rationalize it, that was the only conclusion she could reach.
She’d promised herself she’d retire, that she’d never kill again… but instinctively, her fingers itched. She wanted nothing more than to pull out a hairpin and jab it into the guy’s carotid artery.
But even if he was only her fake husband, he was still, technically, her husband.
Besides, for her this was a mission. But maybe to him, this was a real marriage. Maybe this was his way of savoring his wife’s breath one last time as a husband before heading off to die.
Lucky or not, he would be leaving for the front lines as soon as the ceremony ended, with no wedding night in between.
And if she killed him, the million-gold reward would vanish without a trace.
She tried to hold back, focusing on the payout, but then Daisy’s eyes flew open at the heavy sensation against her stomach.
‘Wait… is his thing standing ? In front of everyone?’
No way. Maybe he had something in his pocket, like a spare magazine, a cigar case, even a pistol.
She tried to reason it away, but it was just too warm for that.
‘……!’
…And it even twitched.
‘This horny bastard!’
She was running out of air, the endless kiss making her dizzy. Daisy curled her toes, trying not to stagger, and a shaky breath escaped her lips.
But that wasn’t even the worst of it.
As his hand moved up her back, she suddenly felt her back loosen with a soft click.
‘Did that just come undone?’
The hook on her bra came off.
All it took was a single touch.
Was it on purpose? Maybe it was an accident? But no, a man who doesn’t even care about getting hard in public surely didn’t do it by accident.
Her thoughts were a tangled mess. Ironically, with the tight bra now gone, she felt a lot less constricted. However, a cold chill ran down her spine.
“Apologies. Habit.”
What kind of habit is that?
Now Daisy was sure. The man in front of her was an absolute brute and a shameless prick.
For the first time, he finally smiled, his eyes curving into a lazy, handsome grin.
“For today, let’s keep it brief. Try not to be too disappointed.”
….He’s calling that brief? Maxim wiped Daisy’s wet lips with his thumb, as if he were doing her a favor.
“There are too many eyes watching.”
He whispered in her ear.
“If we went any further, I might not be able to hold myself back.”
This pervert. So there’s a reason this job pays a million gold after all.
Flustered, she glanced down at her chest. Oh god.
Now free from its bindings, her bust looked ready to burst out of the dress if she made a wrong move.
With the ceremony over, only the march remained.
‘And he’s… still hard. Is he really going to walk out with all these eyes watching?’
She tried to ignore it, but her eyes kept wandering back. It had been scary enough to feel it, but seeing the bulge in his uniform pants made it impossible to ignore. The seams look like it was about to burst.
She could testify herself, as the party involved, it was the kind of kiss that left her cheeks burning. For a man that fit, maybe it was a normal reaction, but the timing was all wrong.
‘How could he not notice when it’s that obvious?’
For now, at least, they were facing away from the guests, so only she noticed. But once they started their wedding march, everyone would see.
“Ahem. Well, then. The ceremony is concluded.”
Gosh. Even the priest noticed too.
Embarrassed, Daisy stared at her bouquet and sneaked a glance at her new husband. His eyes met hers.
Maxim von Waldeck grinned dazzlingly.
“Bride and groom, please go ahead and take your first steps together!”
Daisy hesitantly linked her arm with his and walked down the aisle. She couldn’t lift her head, knowing everyone’s eyes were on them.
The groom was hard, the bride’s bra had come undone. What an absolute disaster. Her knees trembled with humiliation.
As they reached the entrance, her husband Maxim von Waldeck leaned down and whispered in her ear:
“I’ll be back, Wife.”
Yes, it was nice meeting you, even if only for a moment. May you rest in peace.
“We’ll save the wedding night for after my return.”
What an optimist you are. May your soul rest in peace.
She’d just assumed he was dreaming of a rosy future, like every other hopeful groom.
Poor guy. She almost felt a twinge of real sadness for him…
But then, she had no way of knowing that the ‘cannon fodder’ she’d just married would soon return a war hero.
