“You really are…”

“For some reason, whenever I look at you, Princess, I just feel like I want to devour you these days.”

Nisha’s violet eyes trembled. Kagan chuckled lowly as he rose from his seat and casually dropped himself onto the sofa next to her.

“I had hoped that you coming here meant you’d have a bigger request than this, Princess. Just that?”

“…What?”

“Isn’t there anything you want?”

“Not really…”

She didn’t have much to complain about.

She was served three meals a day, had access to snacks if she wanted, a warm place to sleep, and no one berated her.

Mary had a stable job, Rad was finding his place even if it was tough, and Mash seemed to be getting along well enough.

And for the first time, she’d reached the point where she could feel herself nearing her limits, facing the edge of her own life force.

Since coming to Xieman, it felt as if everything had fallen into place. To wish for more now would feel utterly insatiable.

“Nothing at all?”

“Yes.”

“Why? What about jewels or clothes?”

“My closet is already full. You’ve given me plenty.”

She had only recently arrived, and her clothes had already been tailored, with additional accessories brought from Roshan.

She rarely wore any, so adding more felt unnecessary.

“Girls and boys your age usually enjoy dressing up.”

“I guess I’m not one of them.”

At Nisha’s indifferent response, Kagan shrugged with a feigned nonchalance.

“So, there’s nothing you want to eat?”

“The lavish meals every day are more than enough.”

She often couldn’t finish what was served, sending it back, which left her feeling a bit guilty.

At her continued, unenthusiastic responses, Kagan’s eyes narrowed.

“What about furniture? Don’t you want to redecorate the castle?”

“…There are people in charge of that, so why should I?”

“Well, you could have it redone if the atmosphere doesn’t suit you. Change whatever you’d like.”

For Nisha, the thought of tearing down a perfectly fine space just to redo it felt pointless.

Such projects were for those with motivation, which she clearly lacked.

She’d never been one for strong aesthetics either.

“Or I could even build a new castle for you, a new palace, perhaps.”

“Why?”

“One day, when a new Kagan takes over, we could move out and live there, or you could use it as a retreat.”

What would be the point of another place within the same palace?

His narrowed gaze seemed to silently question her logic, leaving Kagan momentarily speechless.

At this point, even he found it difficult to come up with more suggestions.

It wasn’t as if he could give her a weapon, given her delicate frame, and the wealth accumulating in Tun’s name only grew by the day.

His mother had been similarly uninterested in excess, yet she’d at least bought herself new clothes, jewelry, or occasionally purchased land or a retreat.

“So… maybe a villa in a different region?”

“…No?”

Nisha looked at him with a puzzled expression, as if his offer was completely out of the blue.

Why was he sitting beside her, so intent on giving her something, she couldn’t quite understand.

Kagan slung his arm over the back of the sofa and let out a long sigh, his expression almost like that of a disappointed child, making Nisha’s expression twist in slight confusion.

She replayed her words in her mind, tilting her head slightly.

As far as she could tell, she hadn’t answered incorrectly.

Usually, people were pleased when someone didn’t want to spend money. Yet here he was, looking oddly deflated.

“Your room is spotless,” he commented.

“Sounds like the cleaners are doing a good job.”

“No, I mean that it looks exactly the same as when I gave it to you. Not a single piece of furniture or even a book has been added.”

“Oh.”
