Why aren’t the knights stopping her today?

Despite having such a rational thought, Kaisis stared blankly at his mother who was glaring at him as if she wanted to kill him, while he clutched his cheek that was so painful it felt like it would burst.

“Waaaah! Don’t do it! Don’t hit my brother!”

This wasn’t right. Something was wrong.

But his mother’s strong grip seized his shoulder and shook him.

As if telling him not to think at all, as if impressing upon him that this was his reality and nightmare.

Kaisis gradually let go of his thoughts at that bitter realization. He just let himself be shaken.

“I’m sorry, Mother.”

“Don’t call me that!”

But you gave birth to me.

It shouldn’t be that terrible to see me.

What’s so special about being a magician that you look at Awakened Ones, who are also humans, like they’re worthless insects?

He held back the urge to shout in anger.

Because if he showed more of this side, Luias would be greatly shocked.

But strangely, the scenery changed again.

Just a moment ago, he was being slapped in front of the garden, but now it was a banquet hall.

Even while realizing how terribly strange this sudden change of location was, he couldn’t think properly.

Because once again, he heard his mother’s snort, which conveyed she found him utterly absurd.

“I heard you can’t even control your power properly and hurt the servants? This is why I hate you people. Magic is truly the great truth and power. Don’t you agree?”

No, Mother. I don’t think so.

But she, who had no intention of listening to her son, spoke with her blue eyes—the same as his—flashing.

“The impurities of this world are you people. Have you ever imagined how clean the world would be if only Awakened Ones and Indojas disappeared?”

Then your first son would be gone from that world.

Yet would that world be so good just to imagine?

He had to continuously listen to those painful words that his cruel mother poured out to his face while standing still like a statue.

He had to endure the process of digging up and pulling out all the wounds from his memories, displaying them as if for exhibition, without knowing what was happening.

The location changed to various places in the imperial palace.

Like being continuously slapped by people whose faces he didn’t know, his unwavering mind was also endlessly tormented and beaten.

Crack. Crrack.

He seemed to hear the sound of invisible cracks forming.

Urging him to break down the solid wall and release the power gathered inside.

Beckoning him to release everything and be at ease.

‘No.’

Kaisis gritted his teeth without even knowing what it was. He endured.

The terrible pain gradually spread throughout his body.

It wasn’t because of his mother’s words, nor because of the contempt sent by the magicians following his mother.

It hurt with his fingertips and toes, feeling like they were splitting apart.

“It hurts. It’s painful.”

If only someone would save him.

If only someone would stop this.

His mind, which he didn’t know was so weak, cried like a child.

He curled up, covered his ears, and shouted, begging for it to stop.

But the world was cruel.

It didn’t know when to stop.

“My son.”

His mother’s voice spoke.

Something unidentifiable, wearing the appearance of his nightmare from his memories, whispered kindly.

“You are a monster.”

That was a fact he knew all too well.

***

“I was right. A mental attack-type Gate.”

It’s a place without a boss except for monsters that are mere mobs.

Then the boss, that is, the important monster holding the core, was indeed a mental attack-type monster that quietly hides its body, subdues its prey by shaking their minds, and finally swallows death.

After finishing my thought, I quickly ran as soon as I left the rocky area.

A wide plain, the form of huge flowers visible was a Gate I had learned about before.

Among those flowers, the largest one.

I needed to find the red flower with black dots engraved on it.

That was the main body, and surely there…

‘The Emperor must be there!’

He was an esper with the strongest power, and espers were more delicious prey for mental attack-type monsters than Guides.

After running until I was out of breath, I finally discovered something.

“The King Flower!”

A red flower was extending its tentacles like vines, firmly gripping something.

“That’s.”

It looked like a giant blue ice statue.

“Kaisis?”

As I ran closer, I realized that a person was trapped inside that giant ice crystal.

More precisely, it was Kaisis’s ice crystal, emitting a coldness that seemed like it would freeze you just by approaching it.

A form wrapped in power, like self-harm, to protect himself.

‘Your mental strength alone is truly annoyingly impressive.’

If it had been another esper, they would have already been gulped down as prey by that flower.

Feeling relieved, I approached carefully while holding back laughter that was somehow flowing out.

Looking closely, the tentacles couldn’t stay in contact with the ice for long, so they would retreat and then greedily grab again, repeating this pattern.

The problem was that my situation wasn’t different from that King Flower’s.

“Wow, what should I do about this?”

The blue veins spreading across his white face indicated that Kaisis’s condition was dangerous.

To guide him, I needed to make contact, but there was no way to reach the human inside there.

‘How do I break that?’

His tightly closed eyelids didn’t move at all.

I gritted my teeth.

Still, I had to do something.

“If he stays like that, he’ll go berserk.”

At that moment, I didn’t even think about the fact that I looked like Duke Ariel, or that it would be troublesome if the Emperor with open eyes discovered this.

Looking around, fortunately, I saw a stone that was just the right size to hold with both hands and swing.

Let’s at least grab that.

Let’s grab it and try something.

I ran to grab the stone and swung it hard at the ice crystal.

Clang!

Of course, it was futile.

Once more, clang!

My fingertips rang painfully.

I struck the stone like a madwoman, even thinking to myself how anxiously I was acting.

Clang, clang, clang!

Later, even though my fingertips were bleeding, I kept pounding without caring.

But no miracle happened.

“Wake up. I said wake up!”

I threw away the stone and pounded the ice with my bloodied hands.

“Wake up, you damn bastard!”

After making such a big decision to come here.

Where else would you find a human who blocks his own mate with his ability so they can’t even touch him!

“You said I’m your mate. The characteristic of espers in our world is that they open their eyes like ghosts when they see their mate!”

This might be a different place, but shouldn’t age-old clichĂ©s remain unchanged, d**n it!

“Kaisis!”

But was it because I wasn’t the original female protagonist of this world?

Reality was cruel.

Instead of Kaisis miraculously opening his eyes at my voice, I ended up drawing the aggro of the King Flower that was trying to devour the ice.

Swish, swish.

The tentacles that gave up on the ice moved toward me.

“Hey. Hey. Why are you coming to me? I’m a Guide, so I taste bad. I’m telling you I taste bad!”

Eww, ugh, ptooey!

But it must have read the fear rising from me.

It must have read my mental strength that could collapse.

The tentacle approached and wriggled, bursting its spores.

A pungent and unpleasant air rushed into my nostrils.

Ah, my knees buckled. No. If I lose consciousness here, I’ll be eaten by that thing.

I came to rescue him; I can’t just become food for the King Flower without doing anything.

But my eyelids grew heavy.

Suddenly, darkness covered my vision.

Without even the noisy warning sound from the status window, I fell straight into the other side of consciousness.

In the pitch-black vision, light spread, and I had somehow become a Guide in South Korea.

At that very moment.

“…What was I just doing?”

I opened my eyes in a world where I had lost even my name.

“Hey! Trash!”

I raised my head at those nasty voices calling me.

The espers who spat at me were surrounding me.

Among them, the one with the particularly dirty gaze spoke to me.

“Hey. Your filthy guiding really pisses me off, but I have no choice. Spit it out. Hurry up so I can get on with it.”

What do you mean? Spit it out, you thug.

I wanted to shout, but this was the vivid present, not the novel I had enjoyed reading.

My trashy reality where I had no choice but to guide despite gritting my teeth.

My hand was forcibly grabbed.

And my power was drained.

“Ugh! Seriously, it feels like I’m going to die from disgust every time! Damn!”

This feeling of having my power forcibly taken was something I wanted to curse about.

Looking at that filthy esper’s glare, I thought.

No. This isn’t right.

I…

I knew the sensation of an esper who wanted me, accepting my power.

Not that fake, but the real sensation.
