I Give Up on the BL Novel's Male Leads - Chapter 167
Last night, Edwin’s magic slowly pushed the cold energy out of her body. The fire magic took some time to mix with the water magic, but the warmth that gradually emerged helped her feel more energized, bringing her strength back.
“Phew⌠letâs focus.”
After finishing her shower, Illein reminded herself of her decision. She was no longer going to wander.
Using magic to dry off, she quickly put on her academy uniform and finished her preparations by putting on her ring.
Before leaving, she checked her outfit one last time, and with a refreshed feeling, she was about to leave the mansion.Â
However, contrary to her resolve, an unpleasant situation arose first thing in the morning.
“Illein.”
Willai stood in front of her.
“Youâre here again?”
Illeinâs voice was cold as she was irritated by the sight of him first thing in the morning.
“Did you report me?”Â
“What are you talking about?”
Illein was surprised by the sudden questionÂ
His words made no sense, and she found it utterly ridiculous. She couldn’t even begin to understand what he was talking about.
Willaiâs visits to her house had become so frequent that it no longer shocked her. However, every time they met, something happened to ruin her mood.
In the past, she had been somewhat intimidated by Willaiâs presence. At that time, she didnât have the strength to stand up to him, nor did she have any means to do so.Â
But now, things are different.
She had learned lightning magic from Edwin, and if needed, she could press the button given to her by the city guard to summon them.
Naturally, as time passed, Illein’s expression became colder, and her tone sharper.
“NoâŚ! If it wasnât you, how would anyone know? Someone reported me to the police!”
“Then what does that even mean?”
Willai continued to speak, as if only concerned with his own situation. He seemed completely unaware of the situation, or perhaps it was that he simply didnât care.
Illein felt her irritation growing, especially as Willai was interfering with her school preparations.
She raised her voice and demanded an explanation. Only then did he sheepishly start to explain himself.
“Not long ago, I met you on the roof about Illenas. The truth is, I wasnât supposed to go in, but I did anyway. Please understand. Iâve never liked anyone like this before.”
Willai paused in his speech and suddenly burst into tears.
Illein realized today that there are some people who are simply impossible to understand.
She thought that someone like Willai could not even be defined by the term âirredeemable.â
It was one thing to be shameless, and another to keep spinning illogical arguments; she could understand that. But what was the point of crying every time he made a mistake? Who was supposed to understand or care?
And even though he was being so cautious, trying not to make too much noise inside the house, it was almost pitiful in a way.
Still, she assumed this was his way of trying to be careful around Illenas. Though, she still didnât understand it.
“I didnât report you.”
“Then who did?”
“How should I know? You came looking for me, so maybe someone saw it.”
Illein felt like she could not take this endless conversation any longer. She wanted to throw Willai out immediately. She even thought of using lightning magic to do it.
But she didnât.Â
For one thing, using force on someone else wasnât something she was used to, and she didnât want to resort to it. It reminded her too much of how she had been treated by others before.
“Willai, let me say something. Honestly, if it werenât for Illenas, you wouldnât have apologized to me, would you?”
She struggled to keep her rising anger in check, trying to end the pointless conversation with words.
“âŚYouâre right.”
“Is there any reason for us to keep talking? Iâm busy, letâs stop.”
“Yeah, I get it! Iâm ready to take whatever punishment, I understand! But⌠please, just know that my feelings for Illenas are real.”
But Willai didnât back down. Instead, he clung to her even more.
“Do what you want. But stay away from my sister.”
Illein said this with a cold expression. She made it clear that she didnât want to talk anymore.
The problem was, Willai wasnât accepting it.
“I wonât force anything on Ilenas! I just want to talk and have a conversation if I happen to meet her. Thatâs all I want!”
With tears streaming down his face, Willai cried out with desperate eyes. Illein was about to lose her temper, ready to yell at him.Â
But then.
“What is going on here?”
She heard a voice she had never expected. Illein turned her head, startled by the voice.Â
And there, standing in front of her, was him.
