Yeshion crossed his arms, alternating his gaze between Rosaline and Eldis.

He would’ve liked to look at Adelio’s face too, but ever since leaving the underground prison, Adelio had clung so tightly to him that Yeshion couldn’t get a proper glimpse.

After all, he was currently sitting on Adelio’s lap, trapped in his embrace.

“…It seems you’re fully conscious now, so could you kindly let go of Priest Yeshion?”

“No.”

Adelio replied bluntly, tightening his arms around Yeshion’s waist even more.

“As if I’d let him go. I’ve missed him so much.”

“I feel precisely the same way, so please behave in moderation.”

At Eldis’s words, Adelio clenched his fist. Feeling the increased pressure around his waist, Yeshion looked up, seeing Adelio’s face twisted in displeasure.

“What, are you going to say you’re close friends again?”

“Even if we’re not now, we’ll soon become that way again.”

An odd tension filled the air between the two men.

Caught in the middle, Yeshion rolled his eyes and finally opened his mouth.

“If you two are going to fight, go outside and come back afterward.”

At that, both immediately shut their mouths.

Rosaline’s eyes widened, and he gave a small applause.

Whenever Eldis and Adelio started arguing, no one had ever dared interrupt. Their positions were one thing, but each word they exchanged brimmed with palpable menace.

Yet Yeshion, as if completely unbothered, swiftly severed the threatening atmosphere between the two.

“If you’re done fighting, can we finally discuss my point?”

Everyone nodded quietly in response.

Taking a deep breath, Yeshion carefully looked into each person’s face before speaking again.

“As you all know, we died.”

The moment he mentioned death, Adelio tightened his arms further around Yeshion, as if Yeshion’s death was far harder to accept than his own.

“And we’ve returned to the past, remembering everything. But if we continue as before, we’ll only reach the same ending.”

Especially Adelio.

If they couldn’t resolve his curse, he would again fall victim to the Empress’s schemes and lose his life.

“So please, be honest. Is there anything else you haven’t told me?”

“Something you don’t know… Specifically, what exactly are you referring to?”

At Eldis’s question, Yeshion swallowed hard.

If he were to start asking about things he didn’t know, there’d be countless topics. After all, they’d always excluded him from many conversations.

As he pondered which question to ask first, Yeshion suddenly recalled the ‘weakness’ Eldis had mentioned before. Would Eldis actually tell him if he asked directly?

‘If I knew Eldis’s weakness, maybe I could prevent his death…?’

Still deep in thought, Yeshion stared at Eldis for a moment before finally speaking.

“…Your weakness.”

“My weakness?”

“I want to know what that weakness was—the one you said I was holding onto.”

At Yeshion’s question, Eldis silently blinked. Feeling he’d asked something inappropriate, Yeshion hurriedly prepared to apologize.

“Didn’t you already heal me from that?”

“…What?”

“Could it be…you really didn’t know?”

Dumbfounded, Yeshion slowly nodded. …No, of course he wouldn’t have asked if he’d already known!

As Yeshion made an incredulous face, Eldis chuckled softly.

“That’s why I asked you why you suddenly ran away during our conversation back then.”

“No, th-that’s…! Y-you scared me!”

“Did I? I don’t believe I ever forced you into anything.”

…He hadn’t.

Yeshion had simply panicked and fled on his own.

When Yeshion avoided eye contact, Eldis drew closer and gently grasped his hand, asking carefully.

“If I ever did force something upon you, please tell me.”

“…Wh-what?”

“I don’t want you to have any unpleasant memories of me.”

Eldis said, briefly glancing at Adelio behind Yeshion. It seemed almost as if he were reprimanding Adelio for his previous behavior.

“N-no, it’s nothing like that… Just—wait. What did you mean by saying I healed you? When did I ever treat you?”

As Yeshion recalled, he’d used his healing powers exactly three times.

Once at Mishemol Duchy, healing Rosaline; once suppressing Adelio’s curse; and lastly, using all his divine power—considered taboo—to save Eldis.

“Do you remember what happened during the Connection Ceremony?”
