Yeshion silently screamed and hurriedly glanced around. Hastily picking up his scattered clothes, he threw them on, then grabbed Adelio’s arm as the prince just sat there blankly.

“Hide—hurry and hide!”

“Why?”

“Or would you rather be seen like this?!”

Yeshion lowered his voice, practically growling the words. When Adelio innocently replied, “What’s wrong with how I look right now?” Yeshion nearly lost his mind.

He pulled Adelio and shoved him into the wardrobe, tossing in Adelio’s clothing scattered across the floor.

“Hey, wait—hold on. You’re seriously telling me to stay in here?”

“Isn’t it stranger for you to be in my room right now? Especially looking like that!”

“What exactly do I look like?”

“Your hair’s all flattened! Like someone who just woke up!”

Leaving those stern words behind, Yeshion shut the wardrobe doors and even threw open the window.

Just then, another knock sounded before the door swung open without warning. Startled, Yeshion paused in the middle of dressing to meet Eldis’s eyes.

“…Were you sleeping?”

Eldis asked, observing Yeshion’s messy hair and disheveled clothes.

Yeshion awkwardly smiled and nodded, prompting Eldis to narrow his eyes and stride into the room.

With each step Eldis took, his expression hardened, and when he finally stopped before Yeshion, he seemed suddenly shocked by something.

With a trembling hand, Eldis seized Yeshion’s wrist and asked sharply, voice filled with certainty.

“What on earth have you done?”

“……”

“Why do I sense the Crown Prince’s curse lingering on you?”

Eldis tightened his grip, and Yeshion felt pain shoot through his wrist as though it would shatter.

“Ow—it hurts…!”

When Yeshion’s voice came out hoarse and strained, Eldis’s face turned pale.

“…No, you couldn’t have.”

Eldis murmured, and before Yeshion could reply, he swiftly pulled off the uniform Yeshion had barely managed to put on.

The uniform quickly slid off, revealing vivid red marks scattered across his pale skin.

“You… Did you directly treat the Crown Prince?”

Every word Eldis uttered dripped heavily with anger.

Yeshion hesitated, glancing anxiously at Eldis, before slowly nodding.

“Do you even realize what kind of curse it is?!”

In an instant, Eldis raised his voice sharply.

Yeshion flinched visibly at Eldis’s outburst, and Eldis quickly closed his mouth, swallowing his anger. When he spoke again, his voice was much lower.

“I warned you to be careful when treating curses rather than ordinary injuries. There’s no telling what harm could come to a priest. I clearly explained this—do you not remember?”

“…No, I remember.”

“Well, you remembered and still—ha…”

Eldis, about to speak further, sighed heavily, rubbing his face in frustration.

It had already happened. He knew nothing could be solved by getting angry now, yet his irritation still boiled.

“I apologize for that.”

It wasn’t Yeshion who responded to Eldis’s anger. Instead, it was Adelio who kicked open the wardrobe door and calmly stepped out.

“W-wait! Calm down—!”

Panicked, Yeshion tried to shove him back inside, but Adelio slung an arm around his shoulder and said:

“I was the one who brought up the curse. And I was the one who asked him to cure me.”

“…I distinctly recall telling you Yeshion cannot be entrusted with your treatment.”

“Yes, you did. That’s why I’m apologizing.”

Adelio spoke seriously, entirely devoid of his usual playful manner.

Yet the more sincere Adelio appeared, the redder Eldis’s face grew. Had Adelio not been the Crown Prince, Eldis looked as though he might have drawn his sword and swung it right then.

“You’ve broken your promise, Your Highness.”

“……”

“The temple will no longer assist in treating you. That includes the Saintess and Priest Yeshion as well.”

Hearing this, Yeshion raised his head in confusion.

Though he’d attempted to suppress Adelio’s curse, he wasn’t sure if it had been completely lifted yet.

“I would like to forbid your entry into the temple altogether, but as you’ve provided information, I’ll allow only that much.”

Once Eldis finished speaking, Yeshion urgently stepped in front of Adelio and spoke.

“W-wait, Archpriest. We don’t even know if the Crown Prince’s curse is fully cured yet…!”

At that moment, Adelio reached out and covered Yeshion’s mouth, as if to signal no further discussion was necessary.

Eldis clicked his tongue and continued.

“Didn’t you know? The Crown Prince’s curse is incurable.”

At Eldis’s firm words, Yeshion’s eyes widened. Eldis, who had been glaring coldly at Adelio, once again grabbed Yeshion’s wrist.

Pulling him sharply toward himself, Eldis spoke.

“It’s fundamentally impossible to lift a curse without knowing the identity of the one who cast it.”

“……”
