It Seems Like The Infamous Trash Can is Right Here! - Chapter 168
Vivian stepped out from her bedroom, tousled as if just waking. And behind her, Dantère emerged, yawning.
“What, it’s morning already?”
His torso was bare.
‘Should I be grateful at least he’s wearing pants? No, better he had stayed asleep in bed.’
“It isn’t morning, it’s already afternoon.”
I offered a greeting lightly and followed Vivian to the sitting room sofa.
Meanwhile, Dantère summoned a maid and ordered a tray of food, as if he were master of the room.
And the maid, cheeks red, stole glances at Dantère’s half-naked body despite knowing full well he was Vivian’s man.
The whole scene drew an involuntary sigh from me.
Taking Vivian’s hand, still heavy with sleep, I breathed divine power into her.
“Mmh… thank you, Sasha.”
At last, her half-lidded eyes opened fully.
“Vivian, what do you think about building up our stamina?”
Lacking any talent for the roundabout noble style of speech, I went straight to the point.
“Oh-ho?”
“Now that’s an excellent idea.”
The response came not from Vivian, but from her two men.
“Don’t you think we can’t go on like this? If we want to reclaim anything like a normal daily life, we need a plan.”
…The best method, of course, would be to drive these men out. But I decided not to think about that.
The longer they clung to the mansion, the deeper they fell for Vivian, the easier it would be for Lionel to achieve what he aimed for.
“How do you think we should build stamina?”
Thankfully, Vivian did not seem uninterested.
“Exercise, naturally.”
“I already do plenty, don’t I…?”
Her dazed eyes shifted from Dantère to Ardin in turn.
“T-that… surely doesn’t help much with endurance.”
“Mm. Is that so?”
Maids entered with trolleys, setting down strong-brewed tea, golden scones, puddings topped with caramel.
Vivian chose a bowl of cream-colored stew.
As I watched her empty the dish with a face that finally seemed relieved, I thought again how unsuited one had to be to play the heroine of an adult reverse-harem story.
“We’ll use the training hall beneath the mansion, so we can start lightly. If you’d like, join us, Vivian.”
“Then… shall I give it a try?”
Thankfully, without further persuasion, Vivian expressed her intention to participate.
“The underground training hall….”
“Mm….”
But why did Dantère and Ardin react like that?
Lionel had said the facilities weren’t bad. Did they look inadequate in these men’s eyes, or was there some other reason?
Either way, Vivian and I would only be starting with stretches and light running, so it hardly mattered if the facilities were lacking.
I was already dressed for exercise; all I had to do was wait for Vivian to prepare.
“Sasha, you eat better than I thought.”
Dantère leaned on his hand, watching me steadily.
“And yet, compared to when we first met, you seem thinner.”
I wanted to tell him to stop paying me attention, but with my mouth full with a scone, I couldn’t get a word out.
After a glance in his direction, I went back to focusing on eating. Dantère chuckled, then rose and went inside.
“I’ll go get ready too. Don’t leave without me, Sasha.”
‘Why would I?’ My expression must have said it all as I lifted my teacup, when suddenly, a quiet laugh came from beside me.
“You seem equally uncomfortable with everyone, my Lady. Should I be relieved?”
At Ardin’s words, I was struck speechless.
It wasn’t fairness, it was simply that I disliked those whose behavior was poor, or who might bring me harm.
