His preparations had long been in place before he even brought her to the capital. Arranging a false identity for her was quickly handled.

Her secularization from the temple was even easier. He had stationed people at every step, poured in as much money as necessary, and ensured the process went smoothly.

Convincing her family, however, had always been the biggest obstacle. Especially Vaikal, who had been wary of him since their academy days.

Lionel had prepared everything for that battle. He had left no detail unchecked. Before he even had to say a word, Serenia went ahead and persuaded Vaikal herself. It might take time for Vaikal to fully accept it, but at the very least, there was no need to worry.

Because once Vaikal visited Luanax, Lionel would finally show him everything he had prepared.

With that, all external matters had been settled. Now, the only thing left was Serenia and him and their relationship.

‘…What am I supposed to do?’

To be honest, this was the hardest part.

Wielding power, handling information, starting wars, or throwing money to fix problems, all of it was second nature to Lionel. With each repeated life, such things had only become easier.

To stave off the tedium of endless regressions, he had learned weaponry, tactics, and even a bit of magic. He was confident that he could hold his own against the strongest warriors on the continent.

But when it came to Serenia… It was like wandering through a labyrinth, shrouded in fog.

There was no clear path. His emotions ran rampant, his body refused to listen. It felt as if wild, untamed beasts were tearing through him.

Their first kiss.

She had stood there, wrapped in a sheer dress as delicate as a fairy’s wings, gazing up at him with those lovely, innocent eyes. It had nearly melted his brain.

And in that dangerous, unstable state, she was fearless enough to lean in and press a soft kiss to his lips.

He had almost seized her by the waist and never let go.

And then the second kiss.

That was when he completely lost control.

Her playful, fleeting pecks, like a bird picking up seeds, made his patience snap. His response was to push her onto his bed and devour her mouth with reckless abandon.

There had been no room for restraint, no consideration for the fact that this was all new to her.

He had plunged inside, thoroughly sweeping over every corner, rubbing, biting, sucking.

His tongue had pushed in deep, forcing her to swallow the heat of his desire.

His hands had traced the contours of her face, played with her small earlobes, and when his fingertips brushed the delicate skin of her neck, a soft whimper escaped her lips.

It nearly drove him mad. The heat swelled unbearably, and he felt like he was getting swallowed up by it.

She lay there, completely defenseless, completely accepting of him. He had been one breath away from devouring her whole.

‘Not yet… Not yet.’

If he rushed her too soon, what if she got scared and ran?

She had nowhere else to go now.

It was only when he reminded himself of that fact that he managed to rein himself in. By then, Serenia had already fallen asleep.

After all the ruthless things he had just done, now he was suddenly pretending to be gentle, waiting for her to rest peacefully.

His beast-like gaze had lingered far too long, watching her sleep soundly in the bed of the man who desired her. With her robe barely clinging to her shoulders, and hunger burning in his veins. So, he had dragged himself to the bathroom, leaning against the cold tile, he had silently relieved himself, grinding his teeth in frustration.

And in the lingering haze of fevered breaths and aching restraint, Lionel had reached a conclusion.

The next time they crossed that line, there would be no stopping him.

I’m really LOVING these “Lionel’s POV” chapters. Not only does it fill in our blanks as readers, but DAMN his obsession is sexy as hell. I don’t even mind his beast like thoughts because he knows how to rein them in and be gentle with her. Plus he’s ALWAYS considering her and not trying to push to far to scare her. Man, Lionel is one sexy male lead, and I don’t just mean his looks,
