Henry’s solo exhibition was scheduled to be held at the largest gallery in Count Conwell’s manor.

Count Conwell.

He was a man who had neglected his family due to an obsessive devotion to art, to the point he eventually ended up divorced.

He owned more than a dozen galleries.

There was probably no other noble in the Empire who possessed as many galleries as he did.

Given how famous the Count’s passion for art was, Henry’s solo exhibition was bound to gain notoriety if it was held there.

That part was good.

Just because Henry was supported by House Bayern did not mean he had to hold his exhibition in a Bayern-owned gallery.

No matter how honorable and influential the Bayern Duchy was, they could not surpass Count Conwell when it came to art, so Ash’s decision could be considered wise.

But still…

“How could you tell me the exhibition date only two days beforehand?”

Inside the carriage heading to the Conwell Gallery, Nina glared sharply at the man sitting shamelessly across from her.

That was right.

She found out about Henry’s solo exhibition only two days ago.

She would not have known at all if she had not overheard Ash talking with Hozi by coincidence.

“…I forgot.”

“There are things you can forget and things you cannot. You know how interested I am in Henry’s paintings, so how could you do that?”

“……”

Ash clamped his lips into a straight line and turned his head away.

Watching him unable to even meet her eyes, Nina sighed.

If she had known the exhibition would be this soon, she would have prepared a proper gift.

All she managed to bring was a bouquet of lavenders picked hastily from her greenhouse, the kind that filled the place with a purple mist all year round.

Henry was destined to become a court painter.

Rather than a rushed gift, a bouquet seemed more suitable, so she had hurried to cut the lavender.

‘I wanted to give him something proper for his first solo exhibition…’

It couldn’t be helped now.

At this point, she would have to buy one of the paintings at the highest price today.

She had hoped to purchase a piece at a reasonable cost before Henry’s prices skyrocketed, but…

Her already pitiful purse was about to get even thinner, and thinking of her finances made her genuinely depressed.

‘Good thing I have a share in the rights to Henry’s paintings…’

Thanks to Ash’s arrangement, she received the sponsor’s share of rights in his works, so at least she would get back a portion of whatever she spent.

Just then, Ian, who was leaning against her arm and sniffing the lavender, asked.

“Auntie, what’s the meaning of lavender flowers?”

“The meaning?”

“Yes. Flowers all have meanings and things like that.”

Nina looked at Ian’s sparkling, curious eyes, then glanced sideways at Ash.

He also seemed interested, because even though he pretended to avert his gaze like a guilty man (which he was), his ears were clearly pricked.

‘…Should I even say this?’

She felt strangely self-conscious.

Maybe his feelings were just a misunderstanding or a fleeting sentiment, but…

The man who had confessed to her was sitting right there.

‘It’s not like I’m announcing I care.’

Suppressing her hesitation, Nina answered.

“It means, ‘remember me’.”

A meaning tied to tender, yearning love.

Ash’s gaze sharpened the moment he heard it.

“For a bouquet meant for an exhibition, that doesn’t seem appropriate. Wouldn’t it be better to prepare something else?”

“We should be almost there.”

“A small delay will not cause any problems.”

Not only had she failed to prepare a proper gift, now he was saying being late was fine?

Ignoring Nina’s reaction, Ash opened the small side window and instructed the coachman to change routes.

…Wait.

Was he seriously getting jealous over the flower’s meaning?

Had he always been this childish?

Nina stared at Ash, who shamelessly ordered the detour, with a completely dumbfounded expression.

lol am I weird for finding his petty jealousy, adorable? If Ash is getting jealous over a flower meaning that Nina didn’t even pay attention to, it’s obvious he’s really into her. I wonder if stalker Rebecca will show up again? Wouldn’t be surprised at this point. Honestly, they should spread a rumour that she’s insanely jealous and obsessed with Nina. Since it’s true, it will make her motives even more apparent.
