Thought It Was 'The End', Only to Return to a Changed Genre - Chapter 61
The brief contact of their lips was broken as Shane pulled back, only to dive in again, capturing her breath once more.
Adeline bit her lip and turned her head, but it was futile. Shane grabbed her chin and forced her to face him, biting her lower lip painfully.
āMm, mmph.ā
āOpen your mouth, Adeline.ā
āMmā¦ā
As Adeline resisted, Shane continued to place small kisses all over her face. He kissed the corners of her mouth, her chin, her cheeks, and around her eyes, then smirked crookedly.
āStubborn.ā
Adeline was ready to bite Shaneās pretty lips if he kissed her one more time. But as if anticipating this, Shane lowered his hand from her chin to press firmly between her neck and jaw.
āAh!ā
With a groan, Adelineās lips parted, and his thick tongue plunged in. As the kiss deepened in an instant, Adeline continually tried to push Shaneās chest away, but he didnāt budge.
Honestly, Shane was good at kissing. Or at least it seemed that way. Even though she lacked much experience to know for sure, the tingling in her fingertips and mind suggested he was.
The steady pressure of his lips and the unfamiliar sensation of his tongue against her own made her breathless and dizzy. Just when she felt she couldnāt take it anymore, he would release her lips slightly, allowing her a breath of air, only to capture it again. Occasionally, her back arched involuntarily.
Eventually, Shane, seemingly annoyed, pinned both of Adelineās wrists above her head and pulled his lips away.
āWhere the hell did this punk learn to kiss like thatā¦!ā
Adeline panted, glaring at Shane. He lowered his eyes, catching his breath, then chuckled softly.
āIāve never learned.ā
He really can read minds.
āYou looked at me like I was some promiscuous guy. That was my first kiss.ā
āYouāre kidding.ā
āItās true. Iāve imagined it countless times, though.ā
āā¦ā¦.ā
How could someone be so naturally talented? Adeline stared at him blankly, and he lowered his head to slowly lick the saliva around her mouth.
āI canāt stand the thought of touching anyone but you.ā
āNo, wait, Shaneā¦.ā
This time, Adeline tensed up, knowing that if she didnāt push him away now, they might end up consummating their marriage. She had no chance against his physical strength, and crying or begging didnāt seem like it would work either.
Adeline suddenly realized how naive she had been.
If Shane had wanted, this āstoryā could easily turn into an R-rated depraved, dark romance. Whether she wanted it or not didnāt matter.
āWow, what a crazy lack of situational awarenessā¦.ā
There was no excuse. Of course, she couldnāt win by forceā¦.
And they were married, so there was no way out in terms of both situation and justification. In this world, it wouldnāt be acceptable to refuse marital relations.
Adeline, tense and rigid, glared at Shane, ready to bite him if he tried anything. But Shane unexpectedly released her hands and rolled off her, lying next to her.
āHuh?ā
āWhy, were you hoping Iād pounce on you?ā
āNo! No, no! Thatās not it!ā
āI understand with just one word. I didnāt delude myself into thinking you wanted it.ā
āThatās⦠not it.ā
Adeline cautiously sat up. Shane lay with his eyes closed, using his arm as a pillow.
“You’re not angry anymore?”
At those words, Shane finally opened his eyes. He looked at Adeline with narrowed eyes.
She had said it to provoke him. To cut things off definitively and push him away.
Even though she knew her words would hurt, she chose only the sharpest ones to say. Until a moment ago, it seemed Shane was getting angry just as she intended, but now he had calmed down and was catching his breath, which confused her.
Shane replied. He had completely regained his composure, even appearing relaxed.
“And if I get angry? What do you think will happen?”
“ā¦Weāll fight, right?”
“How? Physically?”
“ā¦ā¦.”
“Or with words? Neither outcome would be good.”
Shane smirked.
“Good thing I stopped before doing something irreversible in response to your provocation. Donāt you agree?”
His gaze dropped briefly below Adelineās neck and then returned. The meaning in his eyes was clear. Realizing what he meant by āirreversibleā, Adelineās cheeks turned bright red.
She tried to move back and get off the bed, but Shane was faster, grabbing her waist. She lost her balance and her face ended up buried in Shaneās solid chest.
“Ah, ugh.”
“Hold back your moans. My patience is already on edge.”
“What! Then let go!”
“I canāt do that. Why do you think I held back?”
“Held back, whatā¦?”
“Do you really not know what Iāve been holding back, Adeline?”
“ā¦ā¦.”
Adeline was good at lying, but she knew that lying at this moment wouldnāt be a good choice.
If she said she didnāt know, and he decided to show herā¦
That would be a problem.
