ā€œThis one, tell me exactly what kind of odds it has.ā€

As Irene spoke to the Hand of Appraisal, it hurriedly fumbled with the dagger, inspecting it from every angle before writing in the air.

[Dagger of Annihilation – Has an extremely low probability of killing any existence.
Current probability for Her Majesty: 0.00000001%]

Seeing the probability displayed before her, Irene let out a bitter chuckle.

She had expected the odds to be low, but this was beyond ridiculous.

It was almost impossible to believe that Michael had once managed to activate this dagger’s effect.

The fact that the Hand of Appraisal had given her specific probability meant that Michael’s odds must have been significantly different.

That would explain how he had been able to kill the newly manifested Michaels within the warped dungeon.

Perhaps the Impossibility had also grasped the meaning of that number.

A faint chuckling sound echoed once again through the space.

But Irene ignored it. Without hesitation, she drew the dagger from its sheath.

The blade was still in shambles—its edges dull, its notches deep. It barely seemed capable of cutting anything.

Irene raised the dagger and stepped closer to the Impossibility, still restrained by Chomp-chomp. Then, she brought her hand down.

Clang!

A sharp sound rang out as sparks scattered into the air.

The Impossibility remained completely unharmed.

Of course, it did. The probability of this dagger annihilating its target was far too low.

But…

Irene recalled the actions she had seen through Michael’s memories.

The holy knight, once revered as the epitome of righteousness, had slain countless people solely for revenge.

That was something the Michael she knew would never have done.

He had once hesitated to kill even the smallest insect. And yet, in that world, he had cut down humans without a moment’s pause, wading through pools of blood as if it were nothing.

His sword had struck without hesitation. But that didn’t mean his heart had been light.

Michael had spent his entire life learning the sanctity and weight of life.

How deep, how suffocating must his guilt have been before he made the decision to kill them all?

When he had annihilated the Visconti royal family, his revenge could have reached its conclusion.

But he hadn’t stopped. Instead, he had taken on an impossible task—eradicating every last monster.

A number too vast to be written down, an eternity spent swinging his sword, all for a single goal.

To see her again.

Irene raised her hand once more.

ā€œYou think… I can’t do the same?ā€

Clang!

Michael had walked through hell alone, never giving up, searching for her.

And in the end, he had returned her to life.

Then, he had smiled. As if all the time and suffering he had endured were nothing.

Irene could hardly breathe. Now that she understood just how much pain his love for her had contained.

He could have let it fade, dismissed it as a fleeting sentiment.

But instead, he had carried it with him through all those endless years.

And not once his love had never faded.

If so, then…

ā€˜I want to return the favor.’

Irene wanted to see Michael again.

She wanted to mourn his suffering, to offer him comfort.

Just as he had brought her back to life, she too wanted to bring him back.

Clang!

The impact made her hand throb with pain.

But she did not stop.

Neither Chomp-chomp nor the Hand of Appraisal could wield this blade and slay the Impossibility. Their rank was too low.

At this moment, she was the only one who could do it.

Laughter filled the void once more.

The Impossibility was mocking her.

Of course it was. Even if she swung her sword endlessly, the odds of triggering its power were abysmally low. It assumed she would tire out before it ever happened.

Irene tightened her grip, ignoring the sting in her hands.

And so, she spoke to herself.

ā€œIt’s not impossible.ā€

A low probability still meant there was hope—however small—that it could happen.

Even if it took an eternity.

It would.

A smile appeared on her lips.

Surely, Michael must have felt the same as he swung his sword in search of her.

The long, grueling path to reclaiming a loved one was not solely filled with suffering.

There was hope that someday, no matter how distant, they would meet again.

Clutching that hope, Irene adjusted her grip on the sword.

She made her decision.

She would erase the Impossibility. She would bring her Michael back.

As long as she did not give up, then it was not impossible.
