As he busily made several doghouses, Michael’s already impressive craftsmanship improved even further.

Now, there were no crooked nails or mismatched lengths of wood.

He carefully sanded all the corners so there would be no injuries, and skillfully applied polish without leaving any stains.

After warming up his hands for a while, what Michael made next was…

ā€œThat’s a baby crib, no matter how you look at it.ā€

Last night, he had sat alone at the living room table, drawing something. He must have been sketching out how to build that crib.

He looked over the paper he’d left on the workbench several times, and measured even the smallest wooden pieces again and again, checking every detail thoroughly.

On top of that, he examined the purchased lumber several times, and if he found even a slightly unsightly grain or a wormhole, he would discard it as useless.

After carefully selecting the best wood, he cautiously prepared it and soon started hammering and sawing away.

Before long, a baby crib was completed in one corner of the yard.

Seeing it, Irene felt her heart swell.

Michael was truly delighted.

Even when wood splinters bounced up and pricked his face as he worked, he never frowned once.

Just thinking of the baby to be born made him so happy that he wore a big grin all day that wouldn’t go away.

But now, after several hours, Irene was starting to feel a little troubled.

ā€œHow many is he planning to make…?ā€

Michael’s work didn’t stop at just the crib.

Once he finished the crib, he started making a table and chairs matched to a child’s height.

As soon as that was nearly done, he began building a small playhouse for the child, and then quickly set to work making little dishes and forks for pretend play.

Watching the growing pile of children’s things in the yard, Irene glanced at her belly.

Of course, her belly hadn’t changed in the slightest.

According to Michael, it had only been about ten days since conception.

ā€˜He said it’ll be a long time before my body changes or my belly grows.’

It would be even longer before the baby was born, and much longer still before the child could play with any of these things.

But Michael was already in a frenzy, trying to fill the world with things for the baby.

ā€œHe really is happy, isn’t he? Right?ā€

Irene mumbled, stroking the puppy’s paw.

ā€˜He’s so happy, I don’t even feel like stopping him.’

He’ll get tired of it eventually, so until then, I’ll just let Michael do as he wants.

That was what she thought.

And a month later.

Irene realized she had been very wrong.

ā€œWhat is all this…?ā€

Opening an unused room, Irene was left speechless at the avalanche of things that spilled out.

Inside, there were not only hand-knitted baby bibs and hats, but all kinds of sturdily sewn clothes packed to the brim.

ā€œWhen exactly did he make all of this?ā€

He’d been staying up late in the living room by himself lately. Had he been making all this?

Irene picked up a meticulously sewn garment and headed to the living room, where she saw a book spread out on the table.

ā€œMaking Baby Food for Our Child?ā€

When had he bought a book like this?

At that moment, Chomp-chomp came out of the kitchen, an apple clamped in the tip of a tentacle, and saw Irene, speaking in a defensive tone,

[This! His Majesty made baby food and I just ate the leftovers! I swear!]

ā€œIt’s fine to eat, Chomp-chompā€¦ā€

[Really? Then I’ll get another one!]

Watching Chomp-chomp excitedly crawl back into the kitchen, Irene let out a sigh.

He hadn’t just bought the book… He had already been making things from it.

Then Irene spotted a sheet of paper next to the book.

Judging by the flashy colors, big letters, and pictures, it was obviously some kind of advertisement.

Michael was never the type to leave random things around the house. There was no way he would bring in a flashy flyer like this…

ā€œA newborn blessing contract…? Unlimited pediatrician house calls…?ā€

Irene was overwhelmed by his incredible preparations.

Just how far was this man planning to get ready?

A few days after that,

Michael spoke in a serious voice.

ā€œI’m thinking of going to see Reyna and Felix.ā€
