I Became a Barbarian's Bride - Chapter 121
“Because I’m hoping the princess will care enough to stop doing it?”
Nisha’s mouth hung open at the slightly innocent yet incredibly sly remark.
Kagan chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand.
“…….”
As his lips lingered, he raised his eyes slowly to look at her, his handsome face now fully visible. Nisha’s cheeks flushed with warmth.
“Just so you know, I’m still not over it,”
Nisha cranes her neck slightly at his words.
“But I figured it’d be better to scold you after you’ve fully become aware of your place as Katun rather than doing it now.”
“…….”
With that, he rose slowly from his seat.
“So, this is why your body always feels lukewarm or cold.”
How could her body ever stay warm when she kept dying and reviving over and over?
Her blood circulation must stop and start repeatedly.
On top of that, she disappeared for a day or two every week. No wonder she never felt warm.
“I’ll have to order warmer bedding and a better bed.”
“That’s not really necessary…”
“And from now on, it’d be best if you did it where I can see.”
“But that’s really not necessary…”
“I told you, I’m hoping you’ll stop, even just a little.”
Nisha, feeling overwhelmed, opened her mouth as if to say something but instead sighed and turned her head away.
From Kagan’s perspective, it was only natural. How could he not be suspicious when his only Katun was willingly drinking poison and could die at any moment?
‘… I guess after seeing her come back to life a few more times, it’ll get easier.’
At least it wasn’t the worst-case scenario.
There didn’t seem to be any threat of experimentation or anything more severe.
Nisha absentmindedly pushed her hair back, nodding with a somewhat detached expression.
“Alright.”
“Good, see? You do listen well, just as I thought.”
“…….”
“Still, a warm bed and bedding seem to be the real issue. I’m not sure how quickly I can get them.”
Nisha wanted to ask what the point was of putting a corpse in a warm bed, but she bit her tongue.
‘I don’t know.’
She still didn’t understand what this man wanted, nor what he expected in the future.
If it was a joke, she wished he’d tire of it quickly, and if it was a game, it was the worst one possible.
“Princess.”
“Yes.”
“I have one more thing to ask.”
Suddenly, Kagan lifted his head, his gaze sharpening as he spoke.
Her eyes narrowed, but the look inside them wasn’t one of genuine amusement, so Nisha swallowed her breath and kept quiet.
“Your ability, Princess. You know, reviving the land, healing the wounded… Other than dying and coming back to life, are there any side effects?”
“…….”
Nisha looked at Kagan for a moment before slowly nodding.
“No, aside from what you mentioned, there aren’t any other side effects from healing people or reviving the land.”
Though there were additional costs when it came to fully dead land or people who were completely gone.
It was a bit of a word game, but not a lie.
At her response, Kagan narrowed his eyes, staring at her for a while before finally smiling faintly.
“I see. If you say so, I’ll believe it.”
Seeing no signs of deceit, he nodded in agreement.
As he stepped back, Nisha briefly rolled her eyes before giving him a light smile, as if nothing had happened.
“You don’t have anything else to do today, right? Princess?”
“Yes.”
“Then, let’s call it a night and get some rest.”
With that, Kagan scooped her up in his arms.
“Ah!”
Caught off guard by the sudden shift in her perspective, Nisha let out a small scream before quickly covering her mouth.
“S-Sorry.”
“Sorry? For what? You should let your voice out more, Princess.”
That’s why no one ever noticed, because she always kept herself so quiet.
