Thinking this over, Kagan led them into the largest eatery in Xieman’s capital.

Through the noisy crowd, people could be seen engaging in bouts of strength.

In Xieman, it wasn’t unusual to throw punches at one another out of boredom, so seeing fights with bets placed in the marketplace was nothing new.

The loud thuds of punches being exchanged made Nisha’s shoulders flinch and tremble noticeably.

“Not used to this, are you, Princess?”

“……”

Nisha turned her eyes towards him without a word, then gave a rather half-hearted nod before looking forward again.

The busy capital, preparing for the massive national wedding banquet, was abuzz with activity—everywhere, people were rushing around carrying dead beasts or monsters on their backs.

Supplies were stacked like mountains, and loud voices rang out as they coordinated efforts.

“Tomorrow’s Kagan’s wedding, so it needs to be as grand as possible!!”

“You idiot, that’s the wrong place! Got eyes in the back of your head or what?”

“Damn, watch your mouth! Is it here or not?”

“Yeah!!”

“Alright!”

It was hard to tell whether they were arguing or just talking aggressively.

Nisha walked straight ahead, her posture rigid.

“Princess, do you know anything about Xieman?”

A heavy silence that felt uncomfortable led Kagan to finally break it himself.

“Ah.”

Nisha’s eyes darted around. She had learned a bit about Xieman, though not much was known. Most of what she’d heard were rumors passed from mouth to mouth. Some came from the twins’ information as well.

“They’re known as warrior people…?”

“We are quite warlike, it’s true.”

“I heard everyone’s eyes are supposed to be red… but I haven’t seen many with that color.”

“Ah.”

Kagan chuckled quietly at her comment.

“Hey! How many times do I gotta tell you, do it this way not that way?! Even if your brain’s just muscle, try using it for once, you idiot!”

“Ha, look at you! Never getting tired of your nonsense, huh? I’m tired of you too, idiot!”

Loud voices clashed nearby as objects began to be thrown back and forth.

A woman hurled things at a man who dodged them, cursing in frustration before spinning around.

Caught in the middle of a chaotic scene in the marketplace, Nisha’s eyes widened as she blinked, trying to make sense of it.

Kagan leaned closer from behind, bending down to bring his lips near her ear.

“Princess, do you think those two are fighting… or not?”

He nodded towards the arguing pair, as if asking for her judgment.

“…They’re fighting, aren’t they?”

“Do you think they’re really mad?”

“Anyone can see they’re mad…”

Everything in the shop was flying through the air without rest, so what was he even saying?

The woman was fuming, spitting out curses one after another, and the man had completely disappeared.

“Hmm, but when we’re done eating and come back, they’ll probably be holding hands, all lovey-dovey.”

“…What?”

Nisha’s eyes darted around in disbelief at the unexpected words from his mouth.

“Then what about them over there?”

They both glanced toward two people sitting at an outdoor café, chatting quietly.

Even though they couldn’t hear what was being said, the atmosphere seemed calm and gentle.

‘…Oh, their eyes are red.’

So it wasn’t entirely untrue that people from Xieman had red eyes after all.

‘Come to think of it, I have seen that sometimes.’

“Do you think they’re fighting?”

“No…?”

“They’re fighting.”

But they were just sitting there, barely moving their lips?

As Nisha’s mind struggled to process the contradiction, wondering how to respond, an event unfolded before them.

“Ugh, seriously. You’re such an annoying woman.”

A man suddenly appeared, clicking his tongue in frustration as he strode over briskly.

“Come on, if you want it, you can have it. Throwing a fit all the way until the afternoon just because I didn’t make it for you in the morning? You’re not a child.”

The man tossed a bouquet of flowers and a rough-looking paper bag onto the table.

The woman, who had been angrily throwing things around, paused, her eyes widening slightly.

Nisha, who was watching the scene with a baffled expression, tilted her head in confusion.

“See?”

Kagan added with a laugh, sounding rather smug.

Bang!

“Then get lost!”

In contrast, a loud noise erupted from the table where the other couple had been quietly talking.

The woman slammed her fist onto the table and stood up. Crack— the table split clean in half.

“…?”

Nisha rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand.

‘What is this?’
