Since the purification wasn’t going well, I could tell Arvina was trying everything she could. The short break ended, and purification practice began again.

The chandelier on the ceiling exploded with a deafening roar. Glass shards poured down onto the floor like rain, and the Purifiers screamed at the same time.
The Awakened reacted quickly and used their abilities to stop the shards from falling, but the explosions didn’t end there.
The lamps hanging on every wall began bursting one after another with deafening crashes. The room descended into complete chaos.
“Evacuate, everyone evacuate!”
The priest shouted. As everyone fled the waiting room in a panic, I searched for Gerard.
His energy, which had been calm only a few minutes earlier, was surging sharply.

“I’m fine. Theor, you go first.”
I shook off his hand and ran toward Gerard.
As though he had known I would come to him in the end, he waited for me without moving an inch.

After throwing off his hat, he crashed his lips roughly against mine. The black hat rolled carelessly across the dusty corridor.
“Open your mouth.”
At the end of a secluded temple corridor, he pushed me against the wall and trapped me in his arms, tilting his head to the side.
Why had his energy suddenly begun to fluctuate? I had brought Gerard here in a hurry to purify him before it could lead to a rampage.
“Haa, hurry.”
He bit down on my lower lip, then anxiously rubbed against my lips when they refused to open.
