Me, the Weakest Member of the Hero’s Party? I’m the Villain Though? - Chapter 125
By the time the Fairy King and I returned to the fairies’ territory, the situation had already fallen into complete chaos.
“Attack!”
With a thunderous explosion, the ground shook violently. Faced with the scene of utter disorder, both the Fairy King and I were deeply startled.
The forest, filled with fallen fairies and covered in hazy smoke, was loud with shouts and screams.
“What happened here?”
The Fairy King grabbed a nearby fallen soldier and demanded an answer.
“Ugh… the barrier was suddenly broken, and then we were attacked…!”
Of all times, they were attacked right when I had been kidnapped by the fairies?
I didn’t think this was a simple coincidence. One strong possibility filled my mind.
“Don’t tell me it’s the hero’s party?”
The moment I asked to confirm, BOOM! A massive explosion rang out. A powerful gust scattered dust into the air, making it impossible to open my eyes.
Everyone, including the Fairy King and me, staggered at the same time and covered their faces.
“What is the meaning of this? There was no talk of the hero’s party launching an attack!”
The Fairy King grabbed my shoulder and shouted angrily.
I wanted to shout back in frustration. I hadn’t expected those guys to attack either!
As I was wondering how to convey this absurdity to him, a voice suddenly called out from the distance.
“LYSIAN!”
At the sound of Kyle’s voice, the one I had been hoping to hear, I quickly turned my head to look for him. But just as I thought our eyes met, someone suddenly grabbed my shoulders tightly from behind.
“Come any closer and I’ll kill him!”
The Fairy King held my shoulder and pressed a sword to my throat.
The situation was deteriorating very smoothly. Before I could even press a hand to my throbbing head, I saw Kyle running toward us in a panic.
“Let Lysian go right now!”
“Then stop your attack!”
It was complete chaos. Just before the standoff between Kyle and the Fairy King could escalate, I raised my hand high and shouted.
“Both of you, stop!”
My voice must have been loud, because even the others who had been fighting stopped and turned their attention to me at the same time. I think I’ve said this before, but I’m not good with being the center of attention.
Feeling awkward, I lowered my raised hand and gently pushed the sword away from my throat.
“Let’s stop attacking each other and take some time to talk.”
“That’s right, Kyle. We agreed to talk first.”
Elonen also supported me. Only then did Kyle lower the sword he had been pointing at us and let out a deep sigh.
“I’ll hear what you have to say.”
“And you should let me go too, Your Majesty.”
I said that while pushing away the Fairy King’s arm, which was still tightly holding me even after lowering his sword.
“If I let you go, you’re not planning to run off with your companions, are you?”
Honestly, even if I did run, I wasn’t sure the Fairy King was in any position to complain.
“I always keep my promises.”
No matter what, I had promised him back at the swamp that I would help. I intended to keep that promise.
“…Alright.”
After a brief moment of thought, the Fairy King finally released me. Kyle ran up to me immediately and began checking me over.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?”
“I’m fine. I’m not hurt. More importantly, there’s something we need to talk about.”
As I grabbed Kyle’s arm and spoke, the Fairy King suddenly stepped past me and moved forward.
“You… Ros?”
The Fairy King approached Kakaros and grabbed both of his shoulders.
“You were alive!”
He exclaimed happily and pulled him into a tight embrace.
As expected, the two forest fairies knew each other. Not only that, they seemed far closer than I had expected.
It looked like a touching reunion, but Kakaros’s expression didn’t look very pleased.
“Your Majesty, have you been well?”
Freed from the Fairy King’s embrace, Kakaros bowed his head politely. Even his tone sounded more respectful and formal than usual.
“I searched for you everywhere. Where have you been all this time?”
“I remained in the Forest of Peace to care for the World Tree, and later came to share the same purpose as the hero’s party.”
Only then did the Fairy King lift his head and look over Kyle, Elonen, and Gerard standing behind Kakaros.
“So that one really is part of the hero’s party.”
Because the Fairy King pointed at me as I stood there awkwardly, everyone’s attention fell on me once again.
