“W-What, what are you…!”
Because he suddenly hit me right in the solar plexus with words, I unconsciously stammered in an uncool way as I asked back. I thought Kyle was saying that to tease me because I was so bad at kissing.
But Kyle carefully placed his palm against my back as if comforting me and said,
“It’s natural. I deliberately excited you because I heard the paralysis wears off when you get excited, so you don’t have to feel embarrassed.”
Kyle had noticed the change that had happened to my body and was comforting me.
I had been endlessly embarrassed that he had kissed me and that I had gotten aroused because of it, but after hearing his words, I felt a little relieved, wondering if that really was the case.
So my shyness disappeared like melting snow, and my stiff center slowly settled too.
“It would’ve been fine by tomorrow morning anyway, so why bother…”
When I muttered that like a complaint, Kyle carefully covered my body with the blanket and answered.
“It’s still better to sleep comfortably. Who knows when we’ll get to sleep in bedding this nice again?”
Then Kyle lay down beside me and pulled me into his arms.
“You shouldn’t catch a cold, so let’s sleep while holding each other like this.”
I clearly wanted to push him away, but my body wouldn’t budge. One thing was certain, it wasn’t because of the paralysis.
My excitement had settled, but my heart was still racing. I felt like I could hear a similar heartbeat from Kyle’s chest against my back.
Even though I knew Kyle had kissed me without any special meaning because he was worried about me and wanted to help me, my mind was complicated.
Maybe it was because it was my first kiss, but my hot, disordered mind showed no sign of calming down.
“Good night, Lysian.”
Kyle’s gentle voice tangled everything up even more.

The next day, all the fairies came out in droves and watched us as we ate in the dining room.
At first, when I was surrounded by people at the tavern and drew attention, I was embarrassed, but now I seem to have gotten fairly used to it, because I didn’t mind at all.
And honestly, my head was in such a mess that I had no room to care about other people’s gazes. From the moment I opened my eyes until now, I had been too distracted thinking about my kiss with Kyle.
I had no choice but to admit it honestly. My first kiss had happened without any meaning, but it wasn’t too bad. No, rather, it was a little good.
So even after waking up in the morning and while eating, my eyes kept going only to Kyle’s lips.
“What do you think, Lysian?”
“…was good.”
So as soon as Kyle looked at me and asked, I unconsciously answered like that.
“What? What do you mean?”
Only after the flustered Kyle asked back did I belatedly snap to my senses. Everyone in the group was looking at me with puzzled faces.

“The fairies agreed to lend us horses, but they said the wild dogs might target us even more because of that. Meat is rare there.”
The wild dogs attacked travelers to obtain food, and they were said to especially target the horses they rode.
“There’s no reason for us to be afraid of them, right? Let’s just go.”
Gerard’s position was that we should ignore the wild dogs and go, while Elonen’s opinion was that we should go around the long way so we wouldn’t get caught up in anything troublesome.
