For example, when she opened my eyes, Genevieve was pointing a knife at me.

She was breathing heavily, her face covered in tears, glaring at Adeline.

“D-Die….”

She knew from multiple experiences that talking at times like these was useless. But she couldn’t help but speak because Genevieve looked so tormented trying to kill her.

Not knowing what the situation was, Adeline smiled to show that everything was okay.

“Do you find this funny?!”

“I’m not smiling because it’s funny.”

“You’re always like this! No matter what I do, no matter what I say, you always brush it off with a smile!”

“…….”

Would it be better to just stay silent?

“There’s no other way now….”

So what’s the reason….

“If my baby and I are to survive, this is the only way….”

Congratulating her on the pregnancy now would make Adeline seem like a psychopath.

Genevieve said she wanted her own family. She wanted to have a baby. She said that even though she was too busy to have a child now, she definitely wanted to have one once she had more time.

If it’s for the baby, it can’t be helped. The tip of the knife shaking perilously as it pointed at Adeline. Even though she didn’t understand why she was a threat to Genevieve’s baby, Adeline accepted the reason for her death.

But being so far away, it seemed she couldn’t kill me in one blow.

Adeline carefully reached out her hand.

“D-Don’t come closer!”

Isn’t it Adeline who’s being murdered right now? Why does it feel like she’s the villain threatening the other woman?

“You can’t do this, Genevieve….”

“I said don’t come closer!”

She boldly grabbed the knife’s edge with her hand. The cold metal dug into her soft flesh, causing a sharp pain, but it was bearable. Genevieve looked pained as if she herself had been stabbed.

“How do you plan to kill me like this?”

“Ugh, ah….”

“In one blow, here.”

With her bloodied hand, she grabbed Genevieve’s slender wrist and guided the knife to her neck.

Does this count as killing herself?

“You have to slash it.”

“Ugh, hiic.”

“Kill me in one blow.”

You know, Genevieve, when you kill someone, you should do it quickly to shorten the pain.

Thinking such a thought, Adeline smiled slightly, and Genevieve’s purple eyes darkened. She bit her lip as if making up her mind.

Fortunately, she didn’t need to slash multiple times.

As Adeline clutched her neck, from which blood was gushing, she collapsed, staring intently at Genevieve’s face.

Genevieve would never be in a situation where she had to kill Adeline, but even in this state, it was somewhat comforting that she wasn’t trying to kill her out of genuine hatred.

Even though seeing her crying as if she wanted to die instead was pitiful.

‘This is a dream.’

Her vision blurred.

Genevieve, who was crying while holding the fallen and dying Adeline, and then the sound of footsteps.

“Adeline!”

Shane burst in through the door. She tried to look at him, but she was already unable to move. It was a relief that it was just a dream, and even in the dream, she felt sorry. In her fading consciousness, she tried to find the person who was smiling.

‘Ah, damn. I can’t do this.’

She lost consciousness.

Next was Lloyd.

Lloyd preferred poisoning over direct stabbing.

Since he managed her food and clothing most closely, it was more convenient that way.

It seemed he had used a potent poison, perhaps out of some lingering affection.

Adeline thought it was typical of Lloyd to mix a deadly poison into the tea served as dessert. Sending her off after filling her stomach, that’s either kind or needlessly considerate….

“Why are you doing this?”

“Would knowing make any difference?”

“I should at least know why I’m dying.”

“…….”

“Tell me. I won’t get angry.”

“Threatening when you’re about to die.”

“…….”

“It’s better than dying at the hands of someone else, Master.”

“…….”

“I can at least ensure your body remains intact. I’ll give you a proper funeral.”

Well, thank you very much…….

“I can’t stand seeing you die by someone else’s hand. I’d rather kill Sister myself.”

“Ah, you called me ‘Sister.’”

“If you had just given up when I told you to stop, to run away….”

“You’re granting my wish before I die….”

“…….”

“Call me ‘Sister’ again.”

“…….”

“And tell me what poison you used….”

Lloyd looked at her as if she were a crazy woman.

Adeline struggled to remember the name of the poison Lloyd used as she coughed up blood. Even so, it was a peaceful death.
