Villain, Let Me Touch You! - Chapter 132
I hooked my arm around Jamieâs sulking shoulder.
âIf by any chance something like that happens, Iâll save you.â
âYou promised, alright!â
Jamieâs face lit up, as if sheâd truly been worried.
âYeah. So letâs make tonight count.â
We changed clothes in Jamieâs room, pulled on our masks, and hurried off toward Priscillaâs glass bathhouse.
***
âYou were spot on, Lady Rienna. How is it this empty? Not a single guard.â
Jamie looked at me with wide, impressed eyes.
âBecause thereâs something to hide.â
âThen shouldnât there be more security? More guards and tighter patrols?â
âYouâve gotta hide the fact that youâre hiding something.â
âI donât follow,â Jamie mumbled.
It was simple. Why didnât she get it? Tilting my head, I explained.
âIf there were lots of guards around, what do you think people would assume?â
âThat thereâs something worth protecting.â
âExactly. Thatâs why they donât station any guards in the first place.â
âBut what if it disappears?â
âThatâs the key point. It wonât. Theyâve hidden something no one can just walk off with.â
Even with my kind explanation, Jamieâs brows stayed tightly furrowed.
âJust follow me. Youâll understand once you see it for yourself.â
I crouched low and headed toward the glass bathhouse, brushing my hand over my pocket. The enchanted voice recorder Iâd brought was still tucked safely in place.
The bathhouse was built a little ways off from Priscillaâs palace. If it were a place she loved and visited often, youâd expect it to be close by. But sheâd had it built in a secluded area.
That in itself was suspicious.
It feels like she wanted to keep her distance on purpose.
The bathhouse was surrounded by thick, dense trees, so much so that from a distance, you could hardly see inside.
The trees looked like a fortress wall, guarding whatever was within.
Hiding beneath the shadow of the trees, I crept forward step by step. It almost felt like I was an undercover agent on a mission.
We reached the glass bathhouse in no time. I looked around cautiously and tried the door. As expected, it was locked.
âWhat do we do?â
Jamieâs voice was laced with worry. I grinned and motioned with my hand.
âYou have a plan, donât you?â
Instead of replying, I walked over to the left side of the bathhouse and crouched down. Jamie followed suit and knelt beside me.
A small window near the ground had been left wide open.
âI see they leave it open for ventilation.â
The window was small, but big enough for me to slip through. Jamie, tall and broad-shouldered for a woman, probably wouldnât fit.
âIâll go in and unlock the door from the inside. Wait out front.â
âI should go on a diet. If I were thinner, you wouldnât have to crawl on the floor like this.â
âNonsense, Jamie! I love your strong, healthy body. And what weight would you even lose? Itâs all muscle!â
âRight? So I donât have to feel bad, do I?â
Jamie gave me a playful wink and smile.
Maybe it was because weâd spent so much time together, but she really knew how to tease me now.
Still, I didnât mind. Not even a little.
I gave her back a gentle push to send her away from the window and started squeezing myself through.
Crawling like this was what most people only experience in the military, but here I was, doing it now.
Getting into the glass bathhouse was easy enough. My clothes just got a bit dirty, thatâs all.
The moment I was inside, I instinctively scanned the area.
It was eerily quiet. Not even a single chirp from an insect in the artificially maintained garden.
My spine stiffened with tension. Only now did it fully hit me that I was trespassing in Priscillaâs private domain.
If I get caught, itâs all over.
My palms were slick with sweat.
But it wasnât like I wanted to run away. I just wanted to get this over with. Fast.
Not even bothering to stay quiet anymore, I rushed straight to the door.
